A reminder that today Greene County and Paton-Churdan high school speech departments are competing at the Iowa High School Speech Association Large Group Contest.
Greene County Speech Coach Kelley Gray says 15 students are competing in four categories, including Choral Reading, which features “The Lorax;” One Act Play with “The Ladies of the Mop,” Ensemble Acting with the story of “The Adventures of Roxie Hood,” and Group Improv.
Paton-Churdan Speech Coach Kellie Henderson says two students will compete in Group Improv and Short Film with Autumn Consier and Abby Duckett.
Both schools are at Ankeny Centennial High School. Those categories that receive a Division I-rating from the room judge will advance to the state competition that will be held on February 5th at West Des Moines Valley High School.
