The West Central Valley School Board recently approved a renewal with a different company for the district’s  drivers education program.

Superintendent Rusty Shockley says they approved the quote from Southwest Iowa Drivers Education for a cost of $325 per student. Shockley explains there will be only minor differences in the new program.

The students, the parents will see no difference. I mean, they’re going to teach the classes here, they’re going to drive leaving from here. So yeah, they’re not going to see anything (different). There might be a little bit of difference in the way the registration is done, but where you have to work, work through and all that.”

Shockley adds there is an additional option that was put into law where parents can do drivers education on their own through the state.
