A fundraiser will be taking place tomorrow to raise money for local first responders in Minburn. 

The Minburn Emergency Rescue Team will be hosting its annual free will donation soup and pie lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Minburn Methodist Church. Chief Dan Case says the fundraiser has been ongoing for quite some time.

“It’s an opportunity for us to raise some funds for the first responder crew, primarily for equipment or training needs that come up from time to time. It’s a good opportunity for us to be able to interact with the community and kind of get folks out of the house and an opportunity to socialize a little bit.”

Case tells Raccoon Valley Radio there will be a variety of soups as well as desserts that people will get to enjoy. Case says another important aspect is for community members to get to know who may potentially be helping them in the future while also raising needed funds. 

“We operate with a pretty small budget and that’s where fundraisers like this are an important way for us to raise funds to be able to make some of those purchases.”
