A reminder that the Jefferson Elks Lodge is hosting the district Hoop Shoot contest tomorrow.

The event was supposed to take place last Saturday, but due to a winter storm, the competition was rescheduled to tomorrow at 10am at the Greene County Middle School gym. The winners from Jefferson’s local contest that took place last month are invited to compete tomorrow include Keegan Minnihan for the 8-9 year-old boys and Kenna Minnihan for the girls. The 10-11 year-old top finishers were for the boys, Kading Winters and for the girls, Edynn Smith. As for the 12-13 year-old boy champion, it was Donovan Martin and for the girls, it was Alivya Smith. 

Additionally, the winners from the six Elks Lodges in the district, including Perry, Council Bluffs, Estherville, Boone, Ames and Jefferson will compete for a chance to advance to the state contest.
