Dallas Center – Grimes wrestling was able to put up a strong performance in their home matchup against Pella on Thursday night, as they were able to win with some style in a 54-19 victory. The win keeps the Mustangs towards the top of Little Hawkeye Conference play.
The Mustangs were able to find wins on the night from Ayden Beck at 113 via a fall at 1:52, at 126 Carson Springer a win in a 6-2 decision, and Ryan Mickelsen won via fall at 132. Brendan Smith wins at 152 in a 5-3 decision, Ben Brushaber won a tough contest at 170 with a fall at 3:43, and at 182 Connor Pertzsch won via the fall at 1:32. At 195 Lane Nelsen won via fall at 3:21 and at 220 Cuin Cullen got the won after an injury timeout from a Pella wrestler.
Nathaniel Dickerson at 106 and Ty Nash at 285 were both able to win via forfeit.
For DCG, they will be visiting Urbandale High School tomorrow for a big tournament, as they will look to finish high in the team standings and find some wrestlers on the podium as well.
