It’s been difficult for the Paton-Churdan basketball teams, especially the girls, to get games played. Illness and other issues have caused the Rockets to cancel or postpone more than one contest and Coach Tom Kennedy’s girls’ team only has seven players to begin with. More than once has he had the minimum of five to start a game and once the Rockets finished with just four on the floor.

Principal and Activities Director Annie Smith said the game Tuesday night in Anita vs. CAM was a great example of how the Rockets are drawing admiration and praise from the opposition. “We had many, many CAM fans and staff come up to us, our girls and our coaches and really commended them for the heart and hustle, integrity and character that our teams show. I honestly couldn’t be more proud of our kids and our coaches.”

The P-C girls and boys are both searching for win number one on the season. They’ll host Ar-We-Va (Westside) in Churdan tonight in a Rolling Valley Activities Conference make up doubleheader.
