As lawmakers meet for the first time in the Iowa legislative session today, one local representative shares his own priorities.
Iowa House Representative for District 19 Carter Nordman is moving into his second legislative session since being elected in November 2020. Nordman says one of his priorities will be letting the thoughts of his constituents be known.
“Well a personal priority of mine is definitely going to be voicing my constituents’ concerns when it comes to the overcollection of taxes from the State of Iowa. I am vice chair of (the House) Ways and Means (Committee).”
Nordman tells Raccoon Valley Radio being vice chair of the Ways and Means Committee, which deals mostly with tax-related bills, will put his constituents in a good position to give feedback to lawmakers during discussions about possible tax cuts this session.
The first day of the 2022 legislative session is today.
