Broadband funds from the Governor for Iowa were recently announced to increase internet access in many counties including Guthrie.
Notices of intent to award has been given out by Governor Kim Reynolds which will see more than $210 million in federal American Rescue Plan Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds going toward broadband expansion in Iowa.
Guthrie County has four recipients that received multiple awards including Coon Valley Cooperative Telephone Association Incorporated receiving $2,729,112 for rural Stuart project, $3,343,329 for Casey Mutual Bayard Fiber Project and $2,093,908 for Panora Communications Cooperative for two projects on the Raccoon River Builds.
