The WCV girls basketball team was back on the hardwood Friday night.

The Wildcats were coming off a close loss to Interstate 35 on Tuesday. This would drop them to 4-6 on the season. WCV shifted focus to a similar struggling team in Woodward-Granger. Coming into this game the Hawks were 2-6.

It was a rough start for WCV, they were behind 10-2 at the end of the first quarter. However, the Wildcats came roaring back in the second, they took a slim 18-17 lead going into halftime. Both squads battled back and forth in the 3rd. It was tied at 28 after three quarters.

The Hawks’ defense played lights out in the fourth quarter. This led to them outscoring WCV 15-2 in the fourth. Woodward-Granger would come out on top, 43-30.

WCV will regroup and get ready for a home game on Tuesday. They’ll be looking for win number five against a winless Ogden. Tipoff is set for 6pm in Stuart.
