Midland Power Cooperative is offering a couple of unique opportunities for certain high school students.
Midland Power is one of several electric cooperatives that participates in the Cooperative Youth Tour program, where high school sophomores and juniors get to travel to Washington, D.C. for one week to meet with members of the U.S. Congress and learn about the federal government. Midland Power is sponsoring one of 40 spots for the trip and any high school sophomore or junior that lives in the Midland Power service territory or attends school in its territory is eligible to apply. The trip is from June 18th-24th and applications are due by March 11th.
Additionally, any graduating high school senior that is living in or near Midland Power’s service area are eligible to apply for the Midland Power Cooperative and wholesale power provider Basin Electric Cooperative for one of four $1,000 college scholarships. Seniors who are planning to attend any accredited two or four year college or university are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is January 31st.
