The AC/GC Chargers boys basketball team goes on the road a beats a very good 8-2 Madrid team Friday.
The Chargers were behind most of the game and trailing 35-28 at halftime but a second half surge of scoring and big three point from Lance Bunde with a minute left in regulation to ultimately send the game into overtime at 64-64. Junior Ben Marsh tells Raccoon Valley Radio what the mindset was going into overtime.
“Yeah, we just had constant ball pressure, Brock was playing crazy defense, so we just told him to keep it up, pressure in the ball and then everyone followed suit.”
Marsh scored 21 points with Miles Kading adding 23 and Weinkoetz scoring 8 points. The Charger boys improve to 7-2 on the year.
The Lady Chargers basketball team also collected a much needed victory against Madrid last night.
They won 40-22 with Saige O’Brien shooting the ball well scoring 14 points, Alaina Bunde adding 11 points and Mersadez Richter scoring 8 points
Both teams will be on the road at Exira-EHK High School with the girls game at 3pm and the boys at 4:30pm.
