Greene County has three wrestlers ranked in the IAWrestle Class 2A ratings released Jan. 4. Kale Petersen is ranked number one at 113 lbs., although Petersen told Raccoon Valley Radio he would be wrestling at 120 lbs. when he becomes eligible later this month after transferring to Greene County High School from Class 1A West Fork (Sheffield). The junior has yet to wrestle a match for the Rams. He won the 1A State title at 106 lbs. in 2021.

McKinley Robbins, the 2A 120 lbs. State Champion last February is rated second at 132 lbs. Blaine Frazier of Notre Dame, West Burlington is top ranked. The two have split their two meetings as high school wrestlers. Robbins was a 7-5 winner in the 2021 State title match and Frazier won 3-2 in early December at the Cliff Keen Classic in Independence, IA.

Gavin Scheuermann is ranked number 11. A State qualifier at 145 lbs. a season ago, he’s at 152 lbs. this season. Nate Black dropped out of the IAWrestle rankings, despite winning every match since the previous rankings were released last month.
