As lawmakers prepare for the upcoming legislative session, one local lawmaker looks back on last year’s session.
Iowa House Representative for District 19 Carter Nordman says the 2021 Legislative session was historic, which came off of the 2020 general election where Iowans expected lawmakers to get things done.
“Iowa was one of the first states, or was the first state in the nation, to pass an election integrity bill. We expanded the Second Amendment, we protected life, (and made) historic tax cuts. We ensured that everybody across the country knew that Iowans and Iowa Backed the Blue, we expanded child care and we invested millions of dollars into broadband.”
Nordman tells Raccoon Valley Radio lawmakers will look to continue the trend of getting things done when they head into this year’s legislative session.
“Iowans gave republicans a mandate, we took that mandate, we ran with it and I am really looking forward to continuing the work that we started last year this coming legislative session.”
The 2022 Legislative session is set to begin on January 10th.
