A local non profit organization in Guthrie County recently held a fundraiser to help families over the Christmas holiday.
Guthrie County New Opportunities Coordinator Rhonda Huggins says their annual fundraiser, “Christmas Gifts for Children,” was a success. She states this event raised money, toys and food for low income families during the Christmas season in Guthrie County. Huggins explains they were able to help 170 children with the donations they received.
“And it is a big deal, and I don’t know that a lot of people realize, you know, you and I maybe we don’t have an issue with buying gifts for our family, but there’s a lot of folks out there that do.”
Huggins thanks all of the volunteers involved and those who donated to the annual program.
