The Office of the Chief Information Officer for Iowa recently announced broadband funds to increase internet access, with some funding making its way to Dallas County.
Notices of intent to award have been given out which will see more than $210 million in federal American Rescue Plan Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds going toward broadband expansion in Iowa.
Dallas County has three recipients that received multiple awards including Minburn Telephone Company in the amounts of $1,807,968 for the Adel-Dallas Center North Rural Broadband Expansion, $3,010,538 for the Perry Rural Broadband Expansion and $874,400 for the South Adel Rural Broadband Expansion.
Also, Windstream Services has received $160,997 for Windstream-Dallas County. Huxley Communications Cooperative received $2,902,038 for Dallas County west of Interstate 35.
