With the new year right around the corner, there are some important reminders about hunting and fishing in Iowa.
According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, pheasant, archery turkey and deer hunting seasons, along with late muzzleloader deer season will close on January 10th. Also, 2021 hunting, fishing and trapping licenses will expire on January 10th as well.
Additionally Goose hunting seasons start closing in the north zone, considered as the part north of a line beginning on the South Dakota-Iowa border at Interstate 29, southeast along interstate 29 to Highway 20 to the Iowa-Illinois border on January 8th followed by the central zone which is from Highway 20 to Highway 92 on January 15th and the south zone which is west of Interstate 29 and south of Highway 92 east to the Iowa-Illinois border on January 22nd. The hunting seasons for quail, partridge, ruffed grouse and squirrels ends on January 31st.
The season for antlerless deer will open on January 11th and will close on January 23rd.
