A Stuart man, who recently passed away, had charges dropped following an incident in Stuart. 

According to court documents, 61-year-old Dale Eugene Terrell had his charges dropped after he died on September 22nd. Terrell was originally charged with misdemeanors for harboring a runaway child, interference with official acts and violation of a no contact order. Additionally, 20-year-old Amanda Terrell was charged with a misdemeanor for harboring a runaway child and was issued a court date on January 14, 2022. 

The charges stem from an investigation by the Stuart Police Department, when Terrell denied hiding a runaway 13-year-old girl in his house on March 8, 2021. The missing girl was unharmed and returned to her parents.
