A Russell man was recently sentenced to jail for an incident that occurred in Dallas County in February. 

According to court documents, 31-year-old Brandon Nicolas Carroll, of Russell pled guilty to a misdemeanor for assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and was sentenced to 90 days in jail and fined $855. 

The Class D Felony for disarming a peace officer, Class D Felony for criminal mischief and first degree harassment were dismissed by the court. 

Dallas County Chief Deputy Adam Infante told Raccoon Valley Radio that a deputy responded to a driving complaint on Interstate-80 at 11:12 a.m. Saturday, February 27th. Infante said Carroll allegedly had a road rage type of incident and rammed into another vehicle. 

Carroll crashed his vehicle and deputies attempted to take him into custody during which Carroll fought against being detained and attempted to disarm one of the deputies. 

Caroll incurred a total cost of $1,983 for the case.
