As the coronavirus pandemic continues, more and more people are continuing to be vaccinated.

Dallas County Health Department Public Information Officer Ann Cochran says the most vaccinated Dallas County residents are those who are over the age of 65. As for the youngest, eligible population of kids from 5-11, Cochran says about a third of those children have been vaccinated. She describes the other age groups between the youngest and oldest.

“We are seeing more and more 12 through 17-year-olds get vaccinated and nearly all of that group is fully vaccinated. The group that’s kind of getting stuck on just getting one dose and forgetting to go back and get the second dose are those people from age 50 to 64.”

Cochran tells Raccoon Valley Radio for those who have not become fully vaccinated yet they are encouraged to do so.

“It’s not just about you, it’s about you helping protect everybody else, too. Especially going into a season when we are celebrating with others, and we are getting together with family members of many ages.”
