The WCV boys basketball team ended 2021 on the road against AC/GC.
The Wildcats were looking to change the narrative of their season against the Chargers. Since their close win over Paton-Churdan, WCV lost two straight. They had their work cut out for them. This AC/GC team was 4-1 heading into this game. The Wildcats were competitive in the first quarter only trailing the Chargers by eight, 13-5. However, AC/GC’s defense dominated the second quarter only allowing 4 points from WCV. Their offense also took over in the second scoring 14 points giving them a 27-9 lead at halftime.
AC/GC took advantage of the big halftime lead to continue to dominate in the third scoring 21 points. They would then coast to victory 62-28. This would give WCV their seventh loss of the season. Ending the first half of the season 2-7.
WCV will get some time off for the holidays. They’ll be back on the hardwood Jan. 4th. It’ll be a road game against the Interstate 35 Roadrunners with tipoff at 7:30pm.
