The Panora City Council recently changed their regular meeting time to earlier in the day.
The Council kept the same date of meeting on the second and fourth of the month but changed the time from 6:30pm to 5:30pm. Mayor Pat Parker tells Raccoon Valley Radio the reason for the change.
“And the reason for change was two fold, one from a staff perspective that some of our employees are done at four o’clock. Some of them are done at five o’clock. And then when they have to come back to the City Council meeting, some of them are just home for about 15-20 minutes and they have to come back. So this allows staff to prepare for a meeting and go right into the meeting and then get home at a more reasonable time.”
Parker also says this will help with scheduling consultants coming from different areas to address the Council. This time will go into effect on January 10th, 2022.
