The northern part of the Guthrie County area gets hit hard from the storm on Wednesday evening.

Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf says there are a couple of large electrical transmission lines that are down in the northern part of Guthrie County and one of them is located South on 141 Highway. He says the damage is widespread in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area. 

“It’s very widespread, basically, from Highway four west to the Audubon County line and from Highway 44 north to the Green and Carroll County line. We’ll be out doing damage assessments this morning. Actually, we have volunteers that will be out driving the roads, actually trying to make contact with those residents to try and get a description of their damages.”

Kempf says one thing the public can do to help the Emergency Management Department is to call their office and describe the damage done to their property. He adds there was only one minor injury reported so far from a Semi Truck that rolled over on Highway 141.
