A Perry man has received a suspended prison sentence and probation from an incident earlier this year.

Conner J. McChesney, 25, of Perry pled guilty to one aggravated misdemeanor for domestic abuse, display or use of a weapon and his second offense for possession of a controlled substance violation. He was sentenced to two years of probation for each charge, to be served consecutively, and was ordered to pay a $1,710 fine for the charges. Also, he received two, two-year suspended prison sentences for each charge.

All other charges, including a domestic abuse, display or use of a weapon charges, and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.

The Perry Police Department said officers responded to the call at roughly 8 p.m. May 1st in response to a subject making threats with a machete. Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn says the victims reported they had a verbal disagreement and McChesney threatened he would harm them with the machete.
