The Perry girls basketball team picked up a much needed win Friday night defeating Greene County 48-22 in Heart of Iowa Competition. The win snapped a four game conference losing skid. The Jayettes took over the game early following a Claire Marburger timeout. The first year coach wasn’t pleased with her team’s intensity to start the game and quickly relayed the message to her team midway through the first quarter. The team responded with a 12-2 run to put the game away. Senior Jayna Kenney exploded for 13 first quarter points and finished the night with a season high 21 points and 13 rebounds to go along with six steals. Lydia Olejniczak added 17 points and 11 rebounds. Katherine West and Callie Steeva each scored four while Maci Tunick added a three point basket. Perry improves to 4-4 on the season and will travel to ADM Monday night.
