Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls basketball were able to use defense to each of their advantages on Friday night against Indianola, with both teams grabbing some wins, the girls in runaway fashion 48-31 and the boys 69-59. The girls move to 6-2 on the year and the boys stay undefeated at 5-0.

The Mustangs were able to hold Indianola to only 10 points in the first half to take a big advantage, and they never looked back as they were able to pick up the solid win. The Mustangs were able to get 11 points a piece from junior Emma Miner and senior Ella Lampe.

On the boys side, the end of the 3rd quarter turned out to be a huge difference as a back and forth game turned into a nice DCG lead, one that they would never give up. The Mustangs offense also clicked in the second half as they were able to put up 41 points in the sixteen minutes.

For DCG, they will have one more contest in 2021 when both teams will have tough matchups this upcoming Tuesday against Johnston on the road.
