The severe storms which blew through the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area Wednesday largely spared Dallas County.
Dallas County Emergency Management Coordinator A.J. Seely says Dallas County was affected by both a tornado warning and severe thunderstorm warning Wednesday and the highest estimated wind gust was between 75-80 miles per hour.
Seely says Dallas County sounded the sirens yesterday due to the high winds that surpassed the threshold of 70 miles per hour during the severe thunderstorm warning. Seely says so far reports on damage have been limited and sporadic throughout the county including fence damage, shed and siding damage and other non-structural damage.
Seely tells Raccoon Valley Radio there are approximately 2,200 customers without power in Dallas County.
