U.S. Congresswoman Cindy Axne
A local lawmaker is encouraged by the latest national November jobs report.
According to the U.S. Bureau Of Labor Statistics, total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 210,000 jobs in November and unemployment fell by 0.4 percentage point to 4.2 percent but fell short of the expected 537,000 new jobs.
Iowa’s Third Congressional District Representative Cindy Axne says the jobs report is on the right track
“On average, we’ve been gaining 550,000 jobs a month, we didn’t gain as much this year because we’ve certainly been putting a lot of people back into the workforce.”
Axne explains that once the Build Back Better Act is through legislation it will get workers into industries where they are needed.
