For one local school in Perry, tomorrow will feature an event for the community to enjoy.
Tomorrow is the Our Lady of Guadalupe event which will get kicked off in the morning. Principal Kandice Patillo says the event will feature a Spanish mass at the church at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Knights of Columbus processing with the statue over to the school.
Patillo tells Raccoon Valley Radio everyone is welcome to attend the event which will also spotlight a celebration at St. Pat’s in Perry as well as lunch being served. Patillo explains what Our Lady of Guadalupe is.
“Our Lady of Guadalupe, it’s a statue of Mary, and there is a big history behind it. You’ll see she’s an important piece to the Hispanic faith, especially the Hispanic Catholic faith. We actually have an Our Lady of Guadalupe statue that is in the school office, that’s right outside of it.”
