Slick driving conditions have led to a busy Thursday morning for public safety officials in Dallas County. 

The Bouton Volunteer Fire Department responded to a wreck  at approximately 6 a.m. Thursday at Highway 141 and O Avenue. Fire Captain Karl Harris says the vehicle was headed east and rolled winding up on the westbound lanes on its side. Harris says the jaws of life were used to extricate the driver who was then transported by Dallas County EMS to a Des Moines hospital. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office also responded. 

Another incident happened at approximately 6:58 a.m. at the same intersection of Highway 141 and O Avenue but no injuries were reported. According to the sheriff’s office they responded to four vehicle crashes that were weather related all on Highway 141. 

The sheriff’s office also responded to a single vehicle crash in the 11000 block of Highway 141 that involved a mother and three children. The mother was transported to the Dallas County Hospital for minor injuries.
