A Jamaican man was arrested following a high-speed chase Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at 3:00pm on Highway 141  near Wood Road when a deputy tried to stop a motorcycle going eastbound on the highway at 70 miles per hour. According to the report, the driver of the motorcycle, 43-year-old Curtis Moorhead refused to stop and the chase ensued, with speeds reaching 120 miles per hour. The chase went on for approximately 10 minutes, going through Dawson, on the Raccoon River Valley Trail and ended at V Avenue and 305th Street in Greene County. There, Moorhead was apprehended without further incident 

Moorhead was charged with an aggravated misdemeanor for eluding, as well as several traffic citations, including driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance, operating without registration and speeding in traffic and eluding chargers. He was booked into Guthrie County Jail where he remains under a $2,000 bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
