While a local event has a new spin on how it is taking place this year, the Perry Library has a few events going on to coincide with it.
The Festival of Trees Reshuffled features decorated trees at various businesses around Perry and Perry Public Library Children’s Librarian Suzanne Kestel says the library also has events going on at the same time..
“We are doing an ‘Itty Bitty Hunt,’ and I’m not kidding, these books are like an inch by an inch, they are really tiny and six books are going to be hid in a tree in the storefronts. And they can get a form from the library, write down what color the book is, and where they found it, and they get their name put in a prize for Perry Bucks.”
Kestel tells Raccoon Valley Radio there will also be an ongoing coloring contest for age groups of under 6-years-old, ages 6-18 and adults. Each age group has a different coloring page to complete and will be judged for prizes.
“They just fill out the little form that I have put on the back of the coloring page, bring it to the library, it will have judging, there will be a prize for each age group.”
Kestel says people can come into the library to pick up the forms for the scavenger hunt as well as the coloring pages.
