The public is invited to a holiday tradition in Jefferson this Sunday.
The Thomas Jefferson Gardens is hosting the Community Christmas Tree Lighting event at 5:30pm at the corner of East Lincoln Way and Chestnut Street. This year’s event includes the lighting of the Christmas tree on the west side of the Welcome Center, along with a visit by Santa. Deb McGinn with Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community encourages everyone to come to the free event.
“We hope that people will come downtown for that event and word on the street is Santa will make a COVID appearance sometime that evening in the Gardens space somewhere.”
The program will wrap up with special holiday music on the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower performed by Janice Harbaugh and there will be free treats for everyone to enjoy.
