In recent Greene County boys’ basketball seasons, three-point shooting has been a strength. The names of Trey Tucker and Trey Hinote are familiar to Ram fans as long range shooters. Last year, Richard Daugherty and Bryce Stalder were the leading three-point shooters for the Rams. Both are back, as are others capable of hitting from long range, but Monday’s season opening 56-55 loss at Ogden lacked the kind of three-point shooting the Rams may need to have the kind of season they are striving for.

The Rams made just two of 21 shots from three-point range in the one point loss. Caden Telleen and Jesse Miller each made a three-point basket, and that was it. Coach Chris Nelson knows the Rams are capable of much better shooting outside the arc, and the team will need it if they are to win at Story City on Friday night vs. Roland-Story. The Norsemen opened their season with a 57-45 victory over Class 3A Gilbert.

Friday’s games are a girl/boy doubleheader at 6 p.m. with coverage at 5:45 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
