The Guthrie Center City Council is looking at options to provide residents with affordable housing.
Mayor Mike Herbert says they heard from the director of the Iowa For Homes program at their last city council meeting and got some ideas.
“What we need to do here, you know, whether it be single family homes, which is, I believe, a great thing. We need duplexes, we need multi-family homes, you know, it’s just something that Guthrie Center needs.”
Herbert explains it has been the Council’s priority to bring affordable housing to Guthrie Center but also that it will be a long process and asks for residents to be patient.
