The Boone Toreadors used a dominant 23-2 run to start the second half to break open a tight game and defeat Perry 80-55 in non conference basketball Tuesday night. Perry trailed 33-29 at halftime after battling back from an early 18-2 deficit. Freshman Geren Kenney scored 11 first half points while sophomore guard Drave Levan added 7 to pull Perry to within striking distance at halftime. Evan Behn and Nate Winter took the game over in the second half scoring a combined 21 points in the second half to keep Boone unbeaten early this season.
Holden Smith finished with 9 points for Perry while Kaelyn Davis, Owen Myers, Matt Booker, Zander Mahler and Caden Steeva all scored 6 points.
Perry is now 0-1 and will travel to Jewell Friday night.
