As younger children are now able to be vaccinated against COVID-19, the Dallas County Health Department encourages families to do so.
Public Information Officer Ann Cochran says since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention authorized a Pfizer Pediatric Vaccine for children ages 5-11, they have had positive reports of children getting the shot.
“Dallas County Health Department encourages parents to get their children ages five on up, in for their flu and COVID vaccine as soon as possible. There have been reports from clinics that that’s coming along well, there are lots of young children now who are getting vaccinated, and that’s great.”
Cochran tells Raccoon Valley Radio it’s not just important for children to be vaccinated against the flu and COVID-19 viruses.
“It’s very important for us going into the winter for our children to be protected against any disease. So, we do encourage this.”
