The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the victim from Perry that was involved in Monday’s fatal crash.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of NE Grimes Boulevard and NE Beaverbrooke Boulevard in Grimes at approximately 10:40 a.m. Monday. Forty-seven-year-old Faustino Mendez Castro of Perry was killed as a result of the crash.
Preliminary reports show that southbound traffic was stopped for a red light and the operator of a Ford truck failed to stop at the red light and rear ended a 2008 Nissan Sentra, driven by Castro, pushing it into a trailer being towed by another truck.
