The West Central Valley School Board met for a special meeting and a regular meeting Wednesday.

During the special meeting, the oaths of office were conducted with the newly elected board members, followed by a closed session to discuss personnel. The Board took no action following the closed session. 

Then during the regular meeting the Board discussed open enrollment, approved the School Board Review Committee application for modified allowable growth, approved two snow removal bids, fundraiser requests, two early  graduation requests and reviewed the board election results.

The organizational meeting then followed the regular meeting. The meeting began with electing Harry Light as board president and Troy Miller as vice president. They approved the rules and procedures for board meetings, as well as continuing to have  the regular meetings on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 pm at the high school

Next, the Board approved Jason Tigges Dallas County representative, Danny Teague Adair County representative and Troy Miller for Guthrie County representative, as well as discussed the Iowa Association of School Boards policy as it relates to the federal COVID-19 vaccination and testing mandate. Finally, the Board discussed the local government risk pool for natural gas and the meeting ended in an exempt session for a negotiation strategy session.
