A historic road that runs through Guthrie County towns is having a contest with the holidays approaching. The White Pole Road Development Corporation is having a contest called “The Holiday Lights Contest,” which encourages anyone who lives alongside or works alongside the byway in the five towns Menlo, Casey, Stuart and Dexter to decorate for the holidays. Contestants are directed to take a photo of their decorations and post it on Facebook and tag the WhitePoleRoad page. The judging will start on December 5th and the winner will be announced on December 13th. The first place winner will receive a $100 gift card to Pioneers Pub & Grub and second place will receive a $50 gift certificate for Drew’s Chocolates.
The White Pole Road Development Corporation encourages residents to drive through the byway and view the lights and support local businesses.
