A monthly program will air tomorrow on Raccoon Valley Radio.

The Greene County High School Greene Spaces class has teamed up with Raccoon Valley Radio to provide for a monthly program where students deliver newsworthy stories on radio. Aidan Neil was one of the students that was involved and describes his favorite part about the class.

“I would say my favorite thing is just being more involved with the school buildings and knowing what’s going on. We don’t normally, necessarily know what’s all happening at the school, but being a part of this class allows us to explore everything.”

Neil says they typically start every issue with a list of topics and then the students will set up interviews with teachers, coaches, or other students. He adds, if an interview needs to happen somewhere other than the high school, they can sign out and do the interview, but everyone is courteous of the interviewee’s time.

Mallory Prescott explains why she wanted to be involved with Greene Spaces.

“I personally like writing, and I like to write about topics, and different topics that we’re able to, and different topics that I’m involved in, and different things within our school. I also like taking pictures for the yearbook and getting to write about it and fun activities that we do in the school year.”

The program normally airs the last Friday of the month, but because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the program will air tomorrow at 6:40am and 4:40pm on KGRA 98.9FM and on the KGRA free mobile app.
