Finding assistant coaches isn’t always the easiest thing for a head coach or activities director. In fact, Greene County boys’ basketball head coach Chris Nelson is the ONLY coach on the staff of one. There is no JV or JVR coach and all three teams and 30-plus players are under his direct supervision.

The coach talked to Raccoon Valley Radio about how he divides his time and he holds two practices a day when there aren’t games. Practice is in the early morning for someone and after school for another group. Nelson, a basketball junkie from the word GO, will get plenty of hoops this season and he’s not complaining, even though he would rather have at least one assistant coach.
