Dallas Center – Grimes Mustangs boys basketball will be looking to duplicate similar success this year following a 20-4 record last year, a year that included a state basketball tournament appearance.

Mustang basketball was able to put up their first 20 win season since 2014-15, which ended a string of six straight 20 win seasons for this Mustang program. The last six seasons for DCG, five of then have seen winning records, as they have usually finished at the top or near the top of the Little Hawkeye Conference.

The offense will be key to the Mustangs attack as they were able to average 63.9 points per game, the most in a season since 2013-14.

DCG will continue on with their first week of their preseason practice today, as they will be hoping to not just tally a lot of wins this year but also be a leader in the conference, and hopefully return to the state tournament as well.
