A Boone woman was recently sentenced to jail and probation for a July incident in Jefferson.

According to court documents, 28-year-old Brittany Hansen pled guilty to two serious misdemeanors for her first offense for an OWI and eluding. Hansen had all but two days of a one year jail sentence suspended for the OWI charge and sentenced to serve two days in the Greene County Jail, with credit for time already served for the eluding charge.

The charges stemmed from an incident on July 31st from a high speed chase that started in the Wild Rose Casino and Resort parking lot at 4:48pm. Hansen’s vehicle got out of the parking lot and headed north on Highway 4, reaching speeds of 70 miles per hour. The chase ended on the highway near 160th Street, when an Iowa State Patrol vehicle made contact with Hansen’s vehicle and it went into the ditch.

Hansen was also ordered to pay half of a $1,250 fine and a 15-percent surcharge for the OWI charge.
