Today is an important deadline for Greene County 4-H’ers to be aware of.

Greene County Extension Director Lori Mannel says current 4-H’ers must be re-enrolled by today’s deadline for the upcoming year. Additionally, the fee to re-enroll is reduced to $15, due to the sponsorship of Greene County Environmental Habitat Corporation with County Conservation Director Tanner Scheuermann, Heartland Cooperative in Rippey, Hawn Family Farms in Scranton and Greene County Corn Growers Association. Mannel recalls the re-enroll fees have been the same for a very long time.

“I won’t tell you how many years, but it’s been many, many decades since I was in 4-H. I just remember it was $15 and I couldn’t believe $15 for a whole year’s worth of activities. It’s meant to be affordable. 4-H is all about learning, and building leaders, qualities that you will take for the rest of your life.”

Mannel points out additional financial assistance is also available and there will be a $25 per family late fee if a current 4-H’er isn’t re-enrolled by the end of today. Re-enrollments are done online only, through the 4-H online profile website.
