At the last Perry City Council meeting on November 1st, the Council approved multiple items relating to a future business coming to Perry.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says the Council approved the site plan and parcel creation at their most recent meeting for Kwik Star. Peterson explains the potential timeline that representatives from Kwik Star have given.
“Anticipated construction would probably be in 2023 unless something happened with one of their other projects around the metro or the state that maybe we would get kicked up a year. There could be a possibility that we see some dirt work or something like that going on next year.”
Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio that while the bulk of the work will take place in 2023 the City is looking forward to working through the project. Peterson talks about the relationship the City has had so far with Kwik Star.
“The company has been very, very good to work with and open to ideas and concepts with the site putting in a sidewalk and even some enhanced trail along First Street and Center Street. So really a company that is interested in making those connections into the community and making access to their business easy for all people.”
The Council approved the site plan as well as the plat of survey creating the parcel where Kwik Star will be located at their meeting on November 1st.
