A Perry man was arrested following a vehicle crash this past Monday.

According to the Perry Police Department, the Perry Fire and Police Departments, Perry First Responders, Dallas County EMS and Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 141, near Perry at approximately 6:25 p.m. Monday.

The driver of the red 2003 Dodge truck was Freddy Espinoza, 19, of Perry. According to the police department, it was later discovered that the vehicle was allegedly stolen. Espinoza was arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for second degree theft – pickpocketing and a misdemeanor for operating while intoxicated. 

The vehicle ended up in the ditch of the eastbound lanes of Highway 141. There were no injuries reported from the incident and damage to the vehicle was estimated at $15,000.
