For one local organization in Perry a special event was held to recognize its new look.
The Perry Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting and Chamber Coffee at Raccoon Valley Radio in Perry to allow people an inside look at what the business does, as well as to celebrate a remodel to the building that was completed last year.
General Manager John McGee talks about how it felt having the community and other Chamber members inside the studio to see the recent renovations which McGee says consisted of gutting the inside of the building.
“I am very thankful and appreciative of probably the 30 to 35 people that braved the weather to come on out and see it.”
McGee says the renovation of the building helped prepare for the future of broadcasting and while the project was occurring staff moved offsite to complete their work either at the Stuart location and their own personal locations.
“We changed the whole flow, changed the whole feel and that’s probably still one of the biggest comments, is ‘How many square footage did you add on?’ We didn’t add on any square footage, we just utilized the space a lot more.”
