A pair of local area seniors were named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association all-state academic teams, with Adel-DeSoto-Minburn’s Katie Cullen and Dallas Center – Grime’s Kenna Jackson both receiving this tough to achieve award.
Cullen played in 27 matches and was able to gather 55 kills on the season, while Jackson was able to lead the Mustangs in assists on the year with 660.
To reach the IGCA Academic All-State team, an athlete must be a senior and have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 and an ACT minimum score of 27 or higher (1200 or higher SAT).
Both of these athletes were able to play major roles on their teams this year, while also continue to do excellent in the classroom as well.
