As the calendar rolls over to November now begins the holiday season while the coronavirus pandemic continues on.

The holiday season brings Thanksgiving and Christmas, which Dallas County Health Department Public Information Officer Ann Cochran says it may be time for people to think differently.

“It’s probably time for Americans to redefine what the holiday season is and how they honor and recognize the values represented by those holidays and by the way they celebrate. Because it’s no longer a great idea to spend days in a crowded shopping center, or a huge football stadium, or attend a concert, some traditions will morph into new and meaningful ways to appreciate the season.”

Cochran tells Raccoon Valley Radio it will be interesting to see in the future what traditions have been retained and what traditions may have fallen by the wayside as people continue to navigate through the ongoing pandemic.
