Members of the community, along with the Perry Chamber of Commerce, celebrated a new business in Perry Thursday.
Participants gathered at Maddie Cakes Bakery in downtown Perry on Second Street Thursday morning to celebrate the opening of the new business, owned by Maddie and Brandon Kelderman. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the business is a good addition.
“We are really excited to see any kind of new business coming to town but especially one that fills what we are hearing from community members when they say that they wish they had more of such and such type of business.”
Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio during the ribbon cutting the items the bakery made were quickly coming off of the shelves.
“She opened her doors at 8 a.m. We were there at 10 a.m. and by that time she was nearly sold out of everything and shortly thereafter was completely sold out after having a complete full case to start off the morning. So, just really exciting to see that support that outpoured into that new business.”
